Pros

Fully remote work environment, offering flexibility and autonomy. Opportunities to work on large, complex programs that can build strong real-world experience. Talented individual contributors who care about their work and genuinely try to support one another. Potential to collaborate with external partners and state agencies, which can be valuable experience for long-term career growth.

Cons

Chronic understaffing is the root problem, affecting every team and every project. Employees are consistently expected to absorb excessive workloads with no realistic resourcing or relief. Multiple competing priorities are pushed simultaneously, often without alignment, strategy, or clarity. Staff are left to navigate contradictory directives with little support from leadership. Toxic behaviors are routinely ignored or tolerated, even when raised through the proper channels. Unprofessional conduct, hostility, and blame-shifting are overlooked, creating an unhealthy environment. Leadership rarely intervenes or enforces accountability, allowing problematic dynamics to persist unchecked. This erodes trust, morale, and team cohesion. Communication is inconsistent, incomplete, or absent, leaving employees to guess at expectations or rework tasks due to shifting direction. The customer is consistently treated as more important and more valued than the employees, contributing to unrealistic demands, pressure to over-deliver without support, and a culture where employee well-being is expendable. Burnout is extremely high, and systemic issues go unaddressed. Instead, the company continues to stretch already thin teams even further.
