Pros

Very slow and bureaucratic life. Legacy technologies and in house frameworks, so more can be learned on domain. Good for short term plans (2-3) years max.

Cons

1)Certain departments are extremely political and they go to any extent to immobilize the life and career prospects in case you don't "toe the line!". 2)Managers typically grow by oiling and expect the same from employees under the context of showing loyalty. 3)Many insecure managers show preferential treatment ,they ignore incompetence or promote incompetent people, undermining those who provide their paycheck, in order to buffer their own position. 4)A strict no for people with technical inclination."Do not get in here!" even if they pay you slightly more.Think long term. 5)Selected mentoring of people by managers who they think will protect them instead of showing fairness.

Pros

-It's an organisation that hasn't stopped growing in recent years -Plenty of work to do especially with the aquisition of Siemens -New roles for those that wish to progress through the ranks -Flexible in terms of location (various offices in the UK) -Pay is good when compared with the general market out there.

Cons

-Managers & Team Leaders seem to be struggling with their workloads and not able to give any quality time (objectives, feedback, coaching etc) for their employee's, feeling very distant -Some staff take advantage of too much red-tape and politics to hide behind to attempt to do as little work as possible. There is a lack of responsibility and ownership that is worrying -You can struggle with the work-life balance if your not careful -Quick fix attitude instead of the long-term stragetic view -Understaffed in various delivery lines
