Pros

Great Work culture, great work life balance, competent salary, lots to learn, helpful peers and superiors, amazing engineers, good HR policies

Cons

If you are not in Cambridge, you are always an outsider. Moreover no recognition if you are not in U.K. no matter how good ideas you have or how good you have performed. You never get to know how your performance in the company as it is quite English way to say bad things as not too bad, ok things as good and just good things as excellent. Management will patiently listen to your grievances and will pretend that they are acting upon it but eventually it all goes down the drain. If you are not in a profit making team, chances are you team will be shut down instead of shuffling within the company or finding some work for the team. I have seen great engineering teams shut down because of failure of marketing and /or sales team in getting new businesses and leads.

Pros

ARM is everywhere, working with great people, good work / life balance. You work on some cool projects, your work is relevant to billions of devices around the world.

Cons

Bad pay, ridiculous savings (on office material, computers, IT budget, food). Specialization and affinity with management has more importance on promotions than competence.

Pros

Benefits: 5 weeks vacation plus the option to buy an additional week, sabbatical, RSUs, bonus, full match plus immediate vesting in the 401K. Casual work environment Market leader Talented co-workers

Cons

The Austin design center is relatively small, although growing. That limits the possibilities for career growth and professional development. There just isn't much need for technical leads when a design center only has 1 or 1.5 projects going on at a time. The "cutoff" for design and implementation engineers is grade 6, the cutoff for verification engineers is 5. This discrepancy between teams is something to keep in mind if you are looking for a verification position in Austin. I can't speak to design centers in other areas of the world.
