Pros

Working with state of the art technologies such as 5nm process. Contributing to state of the art ICs. Not all gropus are as stressful as Silicon Engineering. Might be a good place if you like Apple products. Could be good for junior engineers to gain experience before moving to a more interesting job.

Cons

Micromanagement on all levels drove me to a quick bunout and eroded my self esteem. My most productive time was when the boss was on holiday. Too much time spent on planning and reporting compared to time used for work. Corporate brainwash. HR completely useless. Often isssues are passed from one to another rather than working together to solve them - this is common in large organisations. Very tight schedules leave no room for much inovation and personal growth. Spageti legacy code passed from project to project with little time to clean it up. Teams spread across different timezones around the world might result in many meetings at odd times.

Group think to advance

Pros

- OK pay - great name on a resume - nice people - easier to get into as temp winter employee - stock is great, especially since they keep it affordable for entry level employees - ok health unless your full time

Cons

- you must be a super energetic cheer leader for Apple to advance - above requirement makes group think a big issue; hard to find original ideas - sensitive; every day I work in fear because I never know what new extreme left policy they utilize will trigger false accusations - the need to appease identitarian extremists is so great I am regularly and falsely accused of discrimination - huge lack of diversity. Everyone looks different, but thinks the same. It is kind of like the stepford wives. Lots of smiles and niceness, just don’t mention anything politically moderate or right leaning. - because of all of the above, it isn’t uncommon to see employees emotionally and verbally abuse other employees for taking a stand for something that doesn’t align with identitarian intersectional ideology.
