      Gone down hill since new management installed.

      Pros

      Great non-managment people, who are hard workers that do what it takes to get the job done.

      Cons

      Senior management (staff) don't know how to run a business. The company will end up being sold or run into the ground unless the current CEO/President is replaced.

      Pros

      Team colleagues, manager were very knowledgeable and helpful. Work atmosphere was great. Lots of experienced colleagues to show you the ropes. Lots of respect for development processes. Modern development tools. Work-life balance good.

      Cons

      Lack of defined technical career path and seniority. Even experienced developers in our team (+10yrs) were not offered technical management roles in new projects.

      Gap Between Old Timers and New

      Pros

      I loved being part of an organization that did so much good to help the community. There is a wealth of knowledge and energy there - if you can find it!

      Cons

      Old boy's network rules, Old employees hoard tribal knowledge like gold and treat new people (after 3 years, I was still new) like dirt. New aquisitions and foreign locations receive preferential treatment - up to and including additional days off, better retirement and bonus plans (I didn't even have a bonus plan!), and allowing them to believe that a merger had occurred and not that they had been acquired! Some senior management still in place from when it was a Mom & Pop operation and many need to be retired or demoted.
