Pros

Career Opportunities, Fair Performance Appraisal system, multitude of disciplines, opportunities to travel, knowledge exchange (KX), tremendous employee investment/training, diversity initiatives, very client-centric focus

Cons

(In 07) Work-Life balance can be challenging especially if travel, project experience can be heavily dependent on direct manager's competence and attitude, felt like lower than expected pay at core analyst level

Pros

Accenture is a large organisation where as a young graduate you can learn a lot. It's range of services, industries and clients give plenty of opportunity to work with leading market players at a global level. The opportunity to learn is powered by a structured management of knowledge and by the breadth of resources you can reach worldwide. Working with smart people and as part of large scale programmes provides a very interesting environment, especially in the early stages of a career. If you can stand lot of travelling and don't want to get out at 5, on average you can still have a good work-life balance.

Cons

Accenture is a big corporation and as such it has lost some of the "personal touch" it had years ago. Bureaucracy, over competition for few places on top, a not very limpid performance management process come with the pack. There is a risk of getting lost in the crowd if you don't work for the right group of people and you don't pay attention to the "politics" of relations. Majority of people are brilliant and sharp so if you don't make more than a good marketing of yourself, very hardly you can get to the top level. Salary is reasonable but not “over exciting”

Pros

the compensation is good compared with many jobs on the market, usually clients are big players and this enable good development perspective. I've the fortune to work with smart people with direct contact to senior executive of firm. The company thanks to its dimensions can guarantee good open position also in not good market times.

Cons

Future prospects out of company isn't the same of 20 years ago. Accenture brand inmanagement consulting is weaker than in the past. the firmis working to reinforce its position, but the process risk to be slow or incomplete due to market pressure (it's public company, not like others strategic consulting firms, and stakeholders want money, and system integrationmarket is bigger than strategic consulting one). Most of alumni today work in IT offices, few in others one
