Pros

high salary for a small town

Cons

Worked for Alstom IBRE (around 40 employees in total) in a team of 5, including a sales director, a project manager, a senior engineer, a mechanical engineer contractor and me (mechanical calculation engineer). Really bad management, constantly changing expectations, self-contradictory orders, cheap manipulation tactics. Lack of technical expertise, innovation and resources (at least in terms of mechanical simulation and physics). They cared too much about money and pushed for results at all costs, disregarding technical aspects while holding blindly to their false beliefs dispite evidence. Lack of accountability. When my project went south, they dumped everything on me, not even thinking for a moment that it was them who had started the project and always wanted to control every single detail of it. An amazing feat of cowardice. Toxic workplace overall. Good to make money short-term then never go back.

Pros

Good work life balance Moderately good hikes

Cons

Not a fan of current management (changed during and post covid) No recreational facilities , not even a basic ping pong table or carrom boards tbh(not a con per se , but it would have been better ) Service industry mentality rather than an OEM mentality.(No characteristics of an OEM, mostly due to influx of management recruits influx from service based industries in the COVID and post covid era. Most of the latest policies felt the opposite of being employee friendly .
