Pros

Great pay and benefits. Hours of operation are pretty good compared to other retailers. Fast paced environment makes the time go by very quickly.

Cons

Work/life balance is nonexistent. Work load expectations are often completely unrealistic. District managers are typically kids right out of college who have no work experience and no idea of what it actually takes to be successful in such an environment. There is a severe lack of back and forth discussion or brain storming and instead you are often issued orders or decrees with a "figure it out" mentality. District managers often use the company as a resume builder and as a result, there is constant change and upheaval in upper management making communication between levels nearly impossible. Salaried managers are scheduled 50 hours a week but frequently are required to work 60 or more in order to keep up with the work load. Level of happiness or stress is heavily dependent upon the relationship you have with your District manager. The pay and benefits makes it worth while as a job earlier in life when you are single, though once you have a family that you never get to see it becomes an added stressor. Also, due to the long hours and pure physicality of the work, it is totally unrealistic to make this a life time career and many managers "burn out" around the 10 year mark.

Pros

Decent pay and hours are somewhat flexible. You are also trained for a lot of different work in store.

Cons

Lots of hours especially for people juggling other commitments. Quite tiring if you are just de-carting all day and not on tills. Highly efficient requires lots of energy.

Pros

Great pay and benefits. keeps you busy

Cons

Overwork employees. Expect far too much than humanely possible without proper training. Even when weekly displays required two person liftings they would only allow one person who acted as manager, display setter, and cashier as well as keeping up with floor by themselves and then higher management would constantly put down employees and managers even if they didn't notice the tiny piece of squished gum on the floor in aisle two. employees are also responsible for deep cleaning the store because the company wants to save money by not hiring cleaning crew. I understand the pay is great but to ask as much as they do in the allotted time is completely crazy and many employees become injured or sick from working so much. there is also little to no compassion for employees who have family emergencies. I.e my son was hospitalized and having surgery and while I was in the hospital with him my phone would not stop ringing from my manager and district manager telling me that there was no one to take my shifts and I needed to come in. Also store manager is the highest position to earn in the company Once you start as cashier.
