Pros

Good company, great experience, flexibility.

Cons

Associate buyers are not set up for success. Training is horrible- just a person on Teams reading off of a screen. No mentorship because most managers are from operations/DM roles and don’t know how to buy. Management/Directors don’t understand the workload on ABs. Other departments dumping their needs on the ABs. Impossible to get any help from anyone because no one knows what’s going on with new system and process. Pay could definitely be better. Overwhelmingly high number of females in associate roles (sexist much?) Managers act like they’re in a frat. No pay negotiations- someone could have a smaller commodity than you and get paid the same. Unreasonable workload and no one is in a hurry to bring on new employees. The encouragement to grow within company is a lie. Redoing extensive work is a common occurrence. Did I mention that management is a joke?

Great job and pay if you don't have any ambition or drive

Pros

This is a great job if you are looking for something that pays well, gives decent benefits, and doesn't require you to think. You come in, do your job, and leave. It's great if you're not looking to advance in your career at all. Perfect for moms who want something stable with a decent paycheck.

Cons

I can only speak for ALDI Corporate. ALDI Corporate wants people to come in, do their job, and leave... they want robots. They are not interested in your ideas or suggestions to make things more efficient. There is no need to work hard, or go above and beyond because all employees at the same level MAKE THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY! You can be the best employee they have ever had--but you're still going to make the same amount of money as the worst employee who is doing the bare minimum to not get fired. Oh, and you wont get promoted either. Corporate leadership positions only go to former District Managers who managed a couple of stores straight out of college for a few years. Somehow that makes them qualified to be corporate managers and directors of topics they don't know anything about, yet are the ones making the decisions?!?!?! Have you ever heard of the assistant training the directors on how to do their job? That's what happens at ALDI. Their technology and process are slow and way behind the standards. They are their own worst enemy and create their own work and stress due to their own inefficiencies.
