Pros

Pay is above average. Get to make your weekly schedule as store manager. If in a nice neighborhood will get to know your customers by first name basis.

Cons

Aldi is all about productivity. That means 2 people in the store to open, 2 to close and on weekends if lucky you get a mid. All work still needs to get done and it is on the salaried store manager to complete and work extra hours without any extra compensation. The part that makes it very difficult is the physical demands on your body on top of long hours.

Pros

Excellent pay and benefits. Stores are closed on most holidays. Lots of work makes the day go by quickly.

Cons

DMs are hired straight out of college and often have poor leadership. Most cannot think for themselves or challenge their own leader which makes decisions take much longer than necessary. Expectations vary greatly among DMs which causes inconsistency between stores. Training is poor on all levels. Most employees feel like they don't know how to do their job properly and there is never any time to give additional training to them.

Pros

Great benefits, Great pay. The job itself weeds out coworkers who don't have a strong work ethic. Promotes self-reliance and self-motivation.

Cons

Physically demanding. Sometimes long shifts (9+ hours), that are intensified but the amount of physical labor you do on daily basis. If you want to be full time you are essentially "on call" and need to have open availability. No taking classes or requesting certain nights off for your bowling league or whatever. Burnout rate for cashiers is very high. If you respond better to positive reinforcement, this is not the job for you. They only let you know when you are doing something wrong.
