      Pros

      Flexibility to work from home, PTO

      Cons

      Constant layoffs, no raises for more than 7 years, reduced responsibility, aloof senior management, executives are so self absorbed and out of touch they think the employees are motivated to work, people have jobs at AIG, not careers.

      Pros

      Really nice people working on the front line. Big name company which looks good on your resume. Work from Home was nice.

      Cons

      Aggressive expense reduction targets mean almost no pay rise and management unable to offer market competitive salary. In some cases, sections are laid off abruptly that people don't have enough time to hand over work. Lots of changes over the past 8 years have lead to Change Fatigue. It starts at the top, and it shows with the recent resignation of the CEO. In my 8 years there, he was the 5th CEO. Changes often made without considering impact to antiquated systems that can't handle it, especially when there is headcount reduction.

      Pros

      The people who will work hard to get things done, sacrificing and going well beyond the call of duty. These are the people who make you proud to be at AIG.

      Cons

      Both the lack of managerial courage and blatant favoritism shown to (and covering up of mistakes by) certain areas and people brought in or having history with Sr. Executives. Sr. Management is somewhat uneven, ranging on the scale of some real stars to people who you wonder how they got their job.
