Pros

Learn a lot about the way the network operates and the way the industry runs in general. People are friendly and respectful. Nice atmosphere.

Cons

Some weeks are long. People seem to work more then 40 hours a week. the upper management has it really good.

Pros

-Generally, the people are great to work with. As far as as a day to day work environment goes, I always had "fun" going to work because of the people I worked with. I am sure in some departments this wouldn't apply though. -Freedom to do tasks at your own pace. Obviously tasks have to be done by a certain time and with the entertainment industry , there are hard deadlines, but in general you could complete projects at your own pace, assuming again that you meet deadlines. -Perks. There are always opportunities to go to ABC/Disney sponsored events as well as employee passes to Disneyland/World.

Cons

-Moral is low/work life balance. I feel these two are connected. Working in production, you are expected to work long hours until the project is completed. Occasionally, work is even required on Saturdays. It really depends on your specific job role but 60+ hour weeks on a regular basis wouldn't be uncommon. -Workforce dominated by white men, followed by white women, not much room for minorities. This doesn't necessarily h ave to be a problem, but a workforce dominated by one or two demographics tend to become stale and stagnant without the influx of new ideas. -Very nepotistic in hiring practices, its who you knows you and more importantly who likes you. Since the entertainment is always in high demand, it is very difficult to progress your career. Some people are able to make the jump because of the people they know and not necessarily the skills they have.
