Pros
You are able to say you work for a renowned company, and feel proud. You can move to other companies under Disney. There is also job security as many people have been there for up to 42 years (maybe more)
Cons
Maybe my expectations were too high coming into a company under the disney umbrella, but I was definitely disappointed. To be clear, I am only writing about the abc digital sales ops department on the local side (not tv or national). This team was very poorly managed. Management was promoted from within having 8 to 12 +years of abc only experience. This sounds great but it's actually not. Basically to get to a manager level which is only one level above, you'll have to be there for a very very long time so there really is no room for growth within this dept. Another issue with this is that these managers know only abc and nothing else. I once sat in on a meeting where a vp answered a yes no question about the digital space incorrectly in front of 12 + people. That is when my doubt about managment became very clear. There were blatant issues with responsibilities and structure. You were expected to stay late, and use your personal phones and ipads for work related purposes without being reimbursed.
