Has a world-wide presence, nearly in every country as it provides infrastructure projects such as building dams, wind farms, railroad networks, transmission & distribution and substations. Industrial robotic automation and digital transformation is core to their current 2020 strategy.
Cons
Global 500 company, heavily bureaucratic, laden with red-tape, very risk averse, a bit stodgy trying to reinvent itself through the digital transformation, but struggling to overcome their manufacture, engineering background. Not all the business units embrace ABB code of conduct and ethics, nor value their employees equally. Little opportunity to move up in the corporate ladder as many of the middle and senior management are lifers.
