      Exective Assistant to 3 Global Vice Presidents

      Pros

      I loved that there was something new every day. It was an international company and I very much liked all of the cultures that were brought in as well as a fantastic team that I was a part of.

      Cons

      My bosses had to return to their Countries. The one American took over as Global Vice President of Purchasing at a company called Baldor which ABB had bought.

      Not a great place for technology if you're into software

      Flat organization structure, Good Code of Conduct policy, Work Life balance

      Cons

      ABB might be a great employer in EMEA, but their Indian Offices are far from it. Mostly you'll be reporting to bosses who may not be technically strong enough. As far as software is concerned only maintanence releated jobs tend to be pushed to India, and mostly you get the feeling that everything should be okay as it was done ages ago, change is unneccesary. Expect factory culture, politics. Don't expect your compensation to grow much here. This company might be okay for managerial roles when you're over 40 etc. but as a young person in 20's this isn't the company to be, especially for a software engineer.

      Pros

      ABB is a great company, growing constantly in the last years. It's present in more than 100 countries so plenty of opportunities. It's always investing in development of new products and trying to enter in new business/markets. Atmosphere at work it great and friendly

      Cons

      Targets are always challenging, sometimes clearly not reachable. A lot of initiatives like cost reduction, reduction of travels that cause a decrease of your freedom and capability of doing your job well. The employee development program is not well organize, training is extremely poor and career development is not really present.
