When it's time to eat out, Performance Food Group (PFG) delivers. The #3 broadline foodservice distributor in the US (behind SYSCO and U.S. Foodservice), PFG supplies more than 68,000 products to restaurants, hotels, and other hospitality operators through about 20 distribution facilities. Its PFG-Customized distribution division serves chain restaurants such as Cracker Barrel and Ruby Tuesday, while its Roma Food unit supplies pizzerias, Italian restaurants, and specialty food shops. PFG subsidiary Vistar is a distributor of candy, snacks, and convenience foods for vending operators, retailers, and concessions. The company was taken private in 2008 by The Blackstone Group and Wellspring Capital Management.
