The behavioral questions were tough, they will probe for very specific answers. 'In 40 years when you're giving your retirement speech, who do you hope is in the audience?' 'If you were known for one thing at the end of your career, what would you want that to be?'
Standard questions about technical projects I had done, not very many behavioral questions.
What are your future career goals?
Job fit: hypothetical situation you were hired at a large financial firm as lead designer. Something about how to make any customer of small business cards part of the banking business as well. Then added things to the situation like a member of the team made designs ahead of time and wants you to execute them, and the developer is backtracking on their word and not following the plan. What do you do?
Behavioral: use the situation, task, action, result method to answer -tell me about a time when you had to collaborate with another team to work towards a common goal -a time when you had to sell an idea that initially had push-back -a time when you learned something new to accomplish a project task
Design challenge: interviewer screen shared a packet with context info and the prompt for me to screen shot. They leave you to work on it for ~1hr and then come back for you to present. I didn't have time to read it and ask questions at the beginning but they were available to email and come back on the call if I needed. There were instructions for how they suggest tackling the challenge but my interviewer said not to worry about that and just focus on my process and explaining it at the end. Asked questions about my solution like which piece I would say is the biggest priority, the steps that would go into implementing my solution, how would I Disneyfy my solution and what that meant.
How do I handle difficult conversations with an employee (ie. addressing performance issues)
