Product Service Manager Interview Questions

62 product service manager interview questions shared by candidates

Most were questions about my background as it pertained to the position at hand. For example, what systems was I used to working with, what were my day to day activities in various previous positions etc. I don't recall there being many "describe a time when you were faced with a challenge and what you did to overcome it" type questions however I did get the strangest question I was ever asked in ANY interview. The person who was to be my manager (I would have 5 different ones in the first year alone) asked "If you find yourself not working for UBS in a year's time, why do you think that would be?" I told him I had no idea how to answer that question. In the end, I think what he was saying, in a subtle way is that the company was given abrupt layoffs of IT staff. Given his good nature, I believe he was trying to issue a warning. I wish I had heeded his advice.

The questions weren't difficult, but the recruiter seemed distracted and really not very aware of my answers. She talked over me a couple of times and ended the conversation by saying I would hear back in 3-5 business days. I didn't hear anything after a week, so I followed up by email and asked for a process update. When she got back to me, she mixed up the management role I had applied for with an analyst role, and essentially blew me off.

1. Can you describe a time when you had to manage conflicting priorities from different stakeholders? How did you align their goals and ensure that everyone was on board with the final decision? 2. How do you approach prioritizing features in a product roadmap, especially when resources are limited? Could you walk me through a specific example where you had to make tough prioritization decisions
