Dot net related basic questions 3rd was a hands on Coding round at the Winwire office in Bangalore: 4th Round managerial: In person at the Wiwire office in Bangalore. Nothing much basic managerial questions.

Some of the questions I remember : 1. Explain OOPS with example 2. What makes Java Platform-independent 3. What are the access modifiers supported by Java (ask their understanding of each by e.g. {especially default}) 4. Check the understanding of Overloading & Over-riding (mixing the e.g. of these concepts with access modifiers e.g above) 5. Constructor & Destructor in Java 6. What is static, final & volatile 7. Explain Exception handling mechanism in Java [compile-time & run-time Exceptions, with e.g] 8. Difference between final, finally & finalize 9. Difference between throw & throws 10. About try... catch... finally {what are optional... ask various combn.s} 11. Problem 1 : Assume ClassA to be a Class. I would like to know how many instances of it have been created so far & how many of them are still active. Explain with / without code. [ solution is a combn. of static & finalise() ] 12. What are marker interfaces? Any e.g. [ Expand on serializable interface, if you find canditate good enough ] 13. Problem 2 : Assume ClassX. What would you do in order to use it as a Key, in Java (for instance in HashMap).
