I was asked to fly in for an interview, and I voluntarily went at my own expense. A couple days later, the recruiter told me they hired someone, even though during the interview they layed out a long and elaborate lie regarding the interview process. I asked for reimbursement for my trip since they already knew who they were going to hire before I got there. I received no response to my request.

The interview process is relaxed and the interviewers look to put the candidate at ease. The interview questions were mostly targeted toward my expertise and experience. In depth questions were more conversational than interview type questions. I developed a project plan for building a new unit within the company and delivered to several different people on the executive team.
How did you see yourself as a match to this job posting? What makes you an expert in project management or other public frameworks such as ITIL? One of the interviewers said I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to understand anything you had to say because your background is technical.
