Each person asked questions around my experience as well as why I was interested in the position/ company. They each provided time to ask questions I had. This led to a more conversational interview style.

All three panelists asked canned questions and to be honest, I don't think they knew what answers they wanted as none of them seemed comfortable in the line of inane questioning. I was expecting "if you were a tree, what kind would you be?".
Do you have passion for the industry
The hiring manager will get more specific about examples pertaining to the position. Example: so if we were to hire you as a server how would you handle an upset guest with the wrong food order.
