The recruiter wanted me to be prepared to deliver information during this initial human resources interview: What are your top 5 strategies for improving our website? What are 2 ideas on how you would recommend expanding our market presence? I thought this was odd for the HR person to be asking these questions and not the hiring manager. So, it took some time and research. The interview went really well. We were on the phone for an hour. The HR person was writing down my strategies and ideas. She said I was a perfect fit for this position and that she would call me back either tomorrow or the next day to get me in to see the hiring manager. The phone call never came. A week later I sent an email to the HR person to follow up and let her know of my continued interest, and my eagerness to go in to see the hiring manager. There was no response. Several days later I sent another email to follow up and received a note back saying, "We've decided to go in another direction." When I made an email inquiry asking for details since there was time invested and the reaction made no sense, I received an email back saying, "It is our Human Resource policy to not provide additional feedback." They essentially took my research work and professional opinions and consultation services without paying for it.
