“This is the way we do our creative as a funnel for conversions. What do you like? What don’t you like? How would you change it to optimize better performance.”
Both recruiter and hiring manager were very interested in past company structures of creative departments, the culture, management skills etc. VS really digging into creative background or work within the portfolio. It appeared to me that the opportunity I was interviewing for was a ruse to get free work out of creative candidates and inside knowledge of how to start and run their own in-house creative department. When I asked how soon they were looking to bring someone on I got the run around of "were taking our time to find the perfect candidate." It didn't appear they were really interested in actually hiring, at least not in a hurry. Again it felt off to me and all a ruse for their own personal gain. It also felt like a waste of time and what could have been a dragged out process. Questions: - How was your past company structured? - What was the culture like at said company? - Tell me more about the processes, successes and failures.

What am I looking for in my next role, why am I interested in working there, etc.
They didn't ask me any questions. They just wanted to see how I worked to see if I would work well with them?

I was asked to explain my experience in managing teams and my process for this, among other things. The questions were appropriately challenging as I would expect for the role I interviewed for.
