The second interview consisted of questions pertaining to responsibilities in my current position in Service Desk and how they were matching with the role I applied for at Nova. By the end of the interview, I was told that I have what it takes to be interviewed for a service desk manager role or service delivery manager role and that they felt confident about bringing me onboard. I genuinely felt the empathy and encouragement and even sent a follow-up email showing my gratitude. I was told that I would get a third interview with senior management. Third interview did not last very long, he asked me some technical questions in relation to routers and switches and then told me that I would be contacted with an update. After a long wait, having heard nothing back, I proactively contacted HR and asked for an update. I was told that I would be interviewed in less than a week. An interview was scheduled and it was by far the worst interview I ever had. The interviewer began the interview immediately criticizing me stating that he found my resume very troublesome and his reasoning was that I was employed at two different IT companies. I tried my best to get one word in to explain that I was not employed at two IT companies but he insisted that I did. When he finally realized his error, he said it didn't matter whether they were both IT companies or not and that, contractually I would not be allowed to be employed at Nova working for two different companies. I told him that if and when we cross that bridge, I would have no problem abiding by whatever contract I sign with Nova to which he replied, "it does not matter, I am the [insert position] on this project and I say that you are disqualified!" and ended the call. I was baffled and reached out to HR right away and voiced my concerns and to this day, have not received any feedback on why I was treated that way. Terrible experience.
