I was asked a series of questions about what I knew about Japan. Who was the Prime Minister? Why Japan? What Japanese culture was I interested in? I was asked about teaching. Did I have teaching experience? What was my teaching philosophy? What is something I could do at my school to encourage English language learning? How long did I plan to stay on JET? Why? What does JET stand for? Can you speak Japanese? And right as the interview was wrapping up, and I thought I was in the clear, I was asked the following question - 'Why did the United States drop 2 atomic bombs on Japan during WWII?' Yes, sometimes they really do ask this question. Do research online to find basic questions that are routinely answered. It's also important to look over the essay you wrote for your application. Sometimes they'll ask you questions about it. Good Luck!
