I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Woodbridge, NJ) in Dec 2011
Interview
I will be reviewing internal posting procedures. Postings go up every Tuesday and Friday, they hold all the information about the position you want to apply for. You fill out your application and give it to the department manager who then reviews it and either approves or denies it. If the application is denied, the department manager has to give you a fair and honest reason as to why it was denied. Not only that, but they also have to talk with you about your development and how you can get approved for the next posting you want to apply for. If the application is approved, you have an interview with HR and they then pass your application to the department manager or they disqualify you. Again, if you are disqualified, you will be told why and how to improve. You then have your interview with the department manager and HR. Usually this is the last interview you have before they make an offer or not.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you describe a time where you had a different opinion than your supervisor regarding the department or processes in the department?
I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Baltimore, MD) in Jun 2012
Interview
Interviewed by 2 people in a comfortable surrounding. The interview lasted about 1 hour. Both people asked questions about my work ethic more than anything. They provide all the training and it needs to be the Wegman's way. Therefore, they aren't too interested in what experience you bring to the table.
I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Ithaca, NY) in Jul 2015
Interview
It was not the interview so much as the time it took to get one! The process was incredibly slow... almost two full months before I was contacted for a phone interview. I felt this was excessive for a part time grocery store job.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions were fairly basic, why do you want to work here?, etc. My favorite question was what does good customer service look like to you?
