Uber Software Engineer interview questions

Only had an initial phone call with the recruiter. I was asked why Uber? I thought this was a silly question on an initial call with a recruiter. Uber contacted me, so I'd think the recruiter would tell me why I'd like to interview for their company. Was I expected to do research? Gave a generic answer. We couldn't move forward because I do not have a 4 year degree. This is listed on my resume, so the recruiter contacted me without even reading it? Gosh
