I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Uber (San Francisco, CA) in Mar 2017
Interview
I applied online and got a Take-Home Exercise after 2-3 months after applying. It takes me 1 week to submit the exercise for uber.
Then Uber recruiter scheduled a video interview with the two designers via email. talked 30 minutes with each designer at Uber.
They asked me to walk through about my design exercise and some projects, explain design process. Nothing too difficult, but didn't make it to the next step.

Question 1
Walkthrough design exercise and some projects, explain design process.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Uber (New York, NY) in Aug 2016
Interview
Was contacted by an internal recruiter and had an phone conversation with that recruiter. Recruiter could tell me very little about the actual position, department, or team that the product designer position would work within. The phone call was more of a formality with the recruiter making it a point to note that "I should expect a lower salary offer than other tech companies" if we made it to the offer stage.
The second interview was a remote, group presentation over Skype. Interviewers were late, arrived at different times, and were clearly distracted during this presentation - checking emails and stopping my presentation several times to talk to people in their offices.
Overall, a lot of red flags. The process was cold and informal and did not reflect a design culture I would want to work within.
