I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uber (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2016
Interview
I applied for the position via the Uber website. Within 24 hours I was contacted by a Recruiter to schedule a phone interview. I completed the phone interview with the Recruiter, which was a positive experience and went well. I was informed that the Recruiter wanted to move forward with scheduling another interview that would allow me to speak to the current HR Business Partner, in Chicago.
Within a few hours, I received an e-mail from the Recruiter stating that after she (the recruiter) connected with the hiring manager, the hiring manager didn't feel that my background was "quite the right fit for the position."
I never spoke with the hiring manager regarding my background and just based on the job description, my background (as presented in my resume) was more than the minimum experience required for the position. So having not spoke with me regarding my background and experience, I don't understand how the hiring manager could determine that my background was not quite the right fit, for the position, especially after the Recruiter had already decided that she wanted to move forward to a 2nd interview.
I'd like to note that my interaction and conversation with the Recruiter was extremely positive and she provided very detailed information about role.
