I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Uber (Bengaluru) in Apr 2023
Interview
I had applied to Uber through a referral. I applied on the link provided. But the next day I decided to check the status of the application. I found the application to be closed. So I asked the referee to find out what had happened, he checked and found out the the recruiter had mentioned that “Candidate withdrew the application”, I had never withdrawn the application. When pressed up on the recruiter said the resume may not have been shortlisted and the hiring manager would have tagged it incorrectly. I wanted to put this out so that people know such experiences happen that even big companies like Uber. They will want absolute perfection from their interviewees but the standards they hold themselves to pretty low. Please be careful before you apply and don’t expect a reasonable reason for a ding from them.
Recruiter, Hiring Manager, Jam (which is too much work), Peer, Engineering, Data, and Skip Level.
A lot of people you need to impress and need to align. They seem to be very afraid of pull the trigger and make a decision.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Mostly about past experiences. Also, some product sense and product strategy questions in their specific area. Very repetitive.
It was okay until the "Jam" session. Recruiter was very responsive and nice until not anymore after the hiring manager decide to no move forward.
Jam session was very confusing and misleading, with barely no questions, no guidance jeopardizing the flow.
