No hiring process, commit to a contract for a certain number of years. You will have to decide which community to serve in: air, sub, surface or Marine Corp. there are also options for medical and legal; I'm not familiar with those communities. If you plan on entering the Nuclear field you will have to interview for that. It is not difficult only stressful, and focuses on math, physics, and some low level engineering question and answer.

Interview
Invited to DC to interview. Had technical interviews with three SESs and a final interview with the Director. The technical interviews were 45 minutes and largely focused on calculus and physics problems, but there was also a good amount of time spent in discussion. There is a fit process going on throughout the whole interview.
