I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at US Navy (High Point, NC)
Interview
I just walked in and said I wanted to join the Navy. They did a background check, physical, etc. to make sure I was eligible and hired me. As long as you are physically and mentally eligible and not a criminal...you get the job! They are constantly looking for people so getting hired is easy. Sorry this is wordy, but the form says it has to be at least 50 words or I can't submit it so I am typing filler words in here. You would think that they would let you submit it with less words if they want your input so badly.
I applied through college or university. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at US Navy (Virginia Beach, VA) in Feb 2012
Interview
Extensive paperwork and multiple interviews. The process was a bit cumbersome and confusing. But there were always people available that could help you through any challenges. Overall, the process was comprehensive and a bit challenging. Nothing derogatory to say about the process, other than it took awhile.
