Lots of paperwork and more than a few interviews along with all of the standard testing. Plus overnight hotel stays for recruiting process. The total process took almost a full year to complete. It was challenging.
Went down to the recruiters office to see what jobs they had. The office was in a strip mall right next to a check cashing place and a laundry mat place.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at US Navy (Carlisle, PA) in Feb 2014
Interview
Talk to a recruiter at the mall. The recruiter will normally give some info and a pamphlet and take down your contact info. They will then contact you nearly every day until you sign up.
