Reached by recruiter, had a phone 30 min phone call, and then a phonescreen. No issues seen in the process except for the awkward behavior of the interviewer
Thank you for your feedback. We'll be incorporating this feedback into the ongoing training we have for our recruiting team and use it to continue to shape the best candidate experience.
I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Tinder (Los Angeles, CA) in Aug 2016
Interview
I applied online, and the recruitment coordinator contacted me 2 days later. We had a casual first phone interview, after which, she immediately scheduled a technical interview with me in 3-4 days. Up to this point, it all went very well. The technical interview was the turning point... It lasted about 50 minutes. Not only the interviewer was in an open space with a lot of background noises, but he also had an accent. Almost half of the time was spent on me asking "what?", "say that again?", "sorry, I can't hear you..." and him repeating. All in all, it felt like they didn't plan the interview ahead of time. Very unprofessional.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Knowing that you start off with a sorted array of numbers which you don't know what the content is, that array is rotated an unknown number of times, and you end up with another array. Find out how many times you have to rotate it back to put it back like how it was.
We're sorry to hear you didn't have a positive interview experience. Thanks for sharing your feedback as it helps us identify opportunities for improvement in our recruiting process.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Tinder (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2016
Interview
I was recommended through a friend and emailed the recruiter. Then I was set up with a phone screening with a software engineering lead and was asked very basic questions. They were mainly behavioral questions with a smudge of technical questions. I really thought I did well but I got a rejection letter the day after. Even provided that I have Android experience under my belt, I really don't know what they expect from interns to even consider them.
