I would have given this a neutral rating, considering that the screening interview with HR went well. She was warm, friendly and wanted to genuinely get to know me as a candidate and human. However, the negative rating stems from my meeting with the Senior Manager who was devoid of any warmth or personality. She was so by the book, it felt like she was reading from a script and was mechanically responding to what I said. I felt uncomfortable and it felt like she checked out mentally 2 minutes in the interview. I’m not salty about not getting the job, because ultimately, I don’t know if I would have worked well with this person. But I wish she at least pretended to care about my answer, and then maybe go with the flow as opposed to reading from her bullet points.
