I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Eagan, MN) in Feb 2024
Interview
I am extremely dissapointed and taken aback by the lack of class and organization shown in this interview. The interview began with me outlining my knowledge on the company, As well as answering general questions about my work history. However, when it came to the recruiter actually describing the role, they were extremely unhelpful and did not seem to know much about the role to begin with. In fact, the information that was shared contradicted a lot of the bullet points outlined in the description. When it came to the Q&A section for the role, I asked general questions about the day-to-day resposibilites and was met with short, unhelfpul, and rude remarks about it being "a new team". When I tried to level with the recruiter and say maybe these questions will be better directed to my reporting manager, they told me that "I was getting too in the weeds, and the direct manager for this role hasnt even been established". The recruiter then followed this up by saying that Thomson Reuters is currently interviewing internal candidates and I shouldn't expect a response or update on the role for MONTHS.
All this to say, I was extremely let down as I was very interested in the role and the company. To be verbally reprimanded for asking questions and doing my research on the company was not a good experience.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Thomson Reuters (Ann Arbor, MI) in Feb 2024
Interview
This was for an internal transfer due to a position elimination. I applied for every position within the company doing the same job but a different product, none of which involved heart surgery or rocket science. I only received one opportunity to interview, as all the others were rejected either because the AI HR bot didn't see the right keywords or the position had an unprecedented number of applicants in the hundreds within hours of posting. The one group who would see me was quite pleasant, did the standard interview, and then performed a demonstration in the second interview.
