I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Rock Hill, SC) in Jan 2012
Interview
First contact will be by phone. At the end of the interview, the interviewer will either tell you that s/he'll pass the information to the Manager of whichever Home Depot you are applying OR you will be told an interview day and time immediately. In my experience, if you are not given an interview right off the bat, they might not be interested in you for that store at the time and you'll be placed in their system as available again.. NOTE: Is better to apply for more than one location because you will be getting called from different Home Depots for differrent positions. Also if you recieve more than one call before you receive a face to face interview- it means they moved on and you are not being considered for another store.
The face to face interview is a couple of question with a manager where s/he'll try to decide whether or not you are a right fit for Home Depot and what position would be good for you, meaning that you may be offered another position during an interview. The questions are similar to "What is customer service to you?" and other question concerning how you handled stressful situations in the past. All the staff was extremely nice- you feel comfortable when you are there.
