I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at The Home Depot (Lafayette, LA) in Apr 2012
Interview
I applied for the job online and in three days I received a call from the HR department for a phone interview. The woman asked very standard interview questions like name a time that I went above and beyond for a customer and how did I handle a situation with an angry customer. I must have done okay because in another three days I received a call to schedule an in-store interview. I scheduled the interview a week later and asked for the appropriate attire for the interview. When I arrived to the store they told me they didn't have me in the computer system for that day so I had to wait almost an hour while the manager printed out my application and looked over it. The woman who interviewed me was very nice. She had a genuine smile and made sure I didn't feel uncomfortable during the whole interview. I ultimately wasn't offered the job because my availability wasn't broad enough, but overall the interview was very easygoing and I got good practice for interviews I will have in the future.
