I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Tesco (Portlaoise) in Oct 2015
Interview
I applied online and got a call a few days later asking me to come in for interview. The interview took place with two people, one who wrote down my answers and the other who asked the questions in order to be actually have a conversation with me and notice body language. The interview was the easiest I've had so far, and the interviewers were absolutely wonderful. The lady practically walked me through it, asking a question and then stopping to explain the question and actually giving examples. However despite this, the lady strongly suggested I had the job and that I would hear from them very soon, but I never heard from them again. The interview was in October 2015. The questions were standard interview questions and nothing unusual came up.

Question 1
Give an example of a time you delivered great customer service
I applied for a shop assistant role at Tesco online, filling in my details and availability. After a few days, I was invited to an interview, which took place in-store. The interviewer asked me questions about customer service, teamwork, and how I would handle busy situations or difficult customers. I gave examples from my past experiences to show my communication skills and reliability. The interview felt relaxed and conversational rather than formal. I was also asked about my flexibility with shifts. Overall, the process was straightforward, and I heard back within about a week with the outcome.
First call with employer then an in person interview where they asked you a few questions about previous experience, your key professional qualities and what you can bring to the role.
