I applied online. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Target in Jul 2010
Interview
I got there, filled out a little questionaire that asked what you would do in different situations, then a young guy interviewed me first and on his name tag, it said "trainee". He asked the typical behavioral questions and I absolutely hate those, probably why I didnt get the job. Some where "describe a time you had to work in a group to complete a goal, how did it turn out, etc etc" or "describe a time you had to go out of your way to address someone else's needs"...so that first interview took about a half hour, then I got a second interview immediately after that. Well I had to sit there for about 10 minutes before the manager came in. She asked pretty much the same questions. When we were done, she said in a couple days you will find out if you got the job. I received an email saying "unfortunately, we cannot offer you a position at this time and blah blah blah"
I applied in-person. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Target in Apr 2008
Interview
I applied in person and filled out an application via computer. After the initial informational questions, there was a personality/skills test that took about half an hour to complete. Afterward, I heard nothing for about a week until I received a phone call from HR requesting an interview. The interview first consisted of a 1:1 with a team lead, which was followed by another 1:1 with an executive team lead. After that I heard nothing for a few days before I was offered the position and asked to take a drug test.
