I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sysco (Houston, TX) in Sep 2009
Interview
Applied on line as was called by HR for an interview. After some basic questions, I was scheduled another day with a DSM. Interview was indept about my experiences and tons of senarios. What was my biggest challenge was also a question. Hiring process was lengthy ( interviewed with six other managers ). Be prepared for the customer scenarios.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Sysco (Los Angeles, CA) in Apr 2012
Interview
The process consists of an initial 1:1 interview with a district manager followed by an interview at the Los Angeles headquarters on a separate day. That HQ interview involves 3 1:1 interviews where you'll meet with a sales director, human resource personnel and the division president if he is available. They ask very standard situational, behavior type interview questions but each person asks almost the same question! Be prepared and have at least 3 examples for each situation. I was told that the time between the interview and an offer can take up to 3 weeks but I found out the next day. The training class started 3 weeks later so the timing was in my favor I suppose. I did receive an offer, which i've accepted and one tip I can give is to ask the president what his vision is for the future of his sales force.
