I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Subway (Riverside, CA) in Mar 2010
Interview
I walked in and asked if they were hiring, they told me I could print out an application online and the manager will be there till 5. Filled out my application and turned it in the same day, the manager interviewed me on the spot, basic questions, why do you want to work here, whats your availability etc... She told me I would need a for handlers card if hired When I left I went and took the test for my food handlers card. She called back about 6pm and said I got the job, thats when I informed her that I just got my food handlers card, so she started my training 2 days later.
Very simple and straightforward. Normal questions like availability, have you worked in food service before, etc. I think it depends on location though since friends at other locations have had more substantive or less substantive interviews.
Straightforward and professional with typical fast food interview questions. Friendly and easy to talk to interviewers. Reasonable length and in person made it more comfortable. Great experience and easy interview.
Was pretty average hospitality interview process, focus on customer service in a fast paced environment, how to deal with stress, team work/ collaboration, company values, and your past experience. and availability etc.
