I applied online. The process took 8 weeks. I interviewed at Slack
Interview
These are the steps I went through for this interview process: 1) Recruiter Phone Screen 2) Hiring Manager Screen 3) Excel Test 4) Case Study Presentation to finance team and then meet with finance team. Thought it was super inconsiderate to ask so much of a candidate when people have jobs and other responsibilities. The excel test (IS|CF tie out) was separate from the case study (Should Slack enter a certain market?) that they wanted me to present. It could have been combined and a quick interview to gauge a person's experience/thought process.
Note to other candidates: be prepared to set aside an ample amount of time for this interview and not receive any feedback if they decide not to move forward with you
Thanks so much for your feedback on your interview experience at Slack. We are constantly working to improve our candidate experience and we hear you: it’s tough to find the time and resources to interview while juggling other responsibilities. We’re doing our best to create a pleasant interview experience that is both thorough and provides our hiring teams ample understanding of your skills and fit for the role you are interviewing for. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Slack (San Francisco, CA) in Feb 2019
Interview
The whole process was about 6 weeks from initial contact to onsite interview. The process consisted of application, initial recruiter screen call, hiring manager phone screen, VP phone screen, then onsite interview.
Within the interview, there was a quick modeling exercise and presentation and then proceeding with 5 30-min interviews with the team.
Overall questions/comments revolved around technical, behavioral, and some abstract questions to get a gist of thought process and methodology.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Slack (San Francisco, CA) in Jan 2016
Interview
The interview process at Slack included a phone screen, phone interview, onsite interview and timed Excel modelling exam.
The People Operations team handling my interview process were very professional and responsive. They were engaged at each step of the process and quick to answer my questions.
The interview panel was sharp and they didn't hold back pointed questions. They asked me to model financial statements on the white board during the onsite interview. They also were interested in my personal interests outside of work. Overall, I was impressed with the interview process at Slack and thought they did a significantly better job than some of the other firms I was actively interviewing with. The interview process left a positive impression on me and ultimately factored into my choice to accept their firm's offer.
