Question 1
Why this role, why this company, situation based questions
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Salesforce (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2021
Interview
I was referred through a current employee and met all the qualifications of the role. Job was posted as fully remote.
I had an initial phone interview set up with the HR recruiter, who was on East Coast time (I am on Pacific time). She very briefly went over the role and what they were looking for. She then did not know whether the role was non-exempt or exempt, and she did not know whether it could be done fully remotely. I would not have applied for it if it wasn't as it is not feasible for me to commute to the San Francisco headquarters. She said she would get back to me. Over the next week (and two follow up emails and one voicemail later), I still have not heard back. The role has since been taken off their website.
I am deeply disappointed in my experience with Salesforce. I cannot understand why they did not live up to their promise of getting back to me on those questions they should have known the answers to in the first place.
There is a lot of hype about Salesforce being an amazing company to work for, but through this experience, I cannot imagine that it is. Perhaps my interview experience was a one-off.

Question 1
I was asked what salary range is acceptable to me even though the HR recruiter could not tell me the most basic and important attributes of the position for me to decide on a proper salary range.
The interview was a clear and traditional Interview, resume, business dress code. Multiple interview appointments depending on the job tittle. I wonder how COVID 19 has affected this process. Probably online video chat interviews going forward
