The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Publix (Tampa, FL) in Oct 2009
Interview
Interview was very short. Very few questions were asked and I barely spoke. Manager only asked simple questions such as availability, willing to work for designated pay rate and gave a brief overview of what the job responsibilities would be. The manager did not go over much about the Publix culture and expectations. I was called by the Administrative Coordinator who set up an interview with about 3 days notice. The interview was scheduled at 5pm and did not begin until about 545pm. It lasted probably less than 3 minutes.

I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Publix (Weston, FL) in Apr 2011
Interview
Interview was very simple. Met with the store manager, talked about previous work experience and plans for the future. Was offered the job on the spot.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Publix in Mar 2011
Interview
I would have loved to work at Publix, but as the other reviewers have commented, it is VERY difficult to get full time. Yes, Publix does offer benefits to part-timers, but only after you have worked 1500 hours. Usually there are already people employed there in line to get full-time ahead of you. You are not eligible for any management development unless you are "full-time". Sad that it is so difficult to get all the benefits and mentoring that they are recognized for.
