it was so long, extended over almost 3 months. First there was the online technical exam in c++, after passing that, 2 weeks after i took it, i was told i have an HR intreview, it was nice with typical questions, then I was given the news that I passed the HR and have a technical intreview and I can choose between OOP and DSA, I chose OOP in C++, they gave me enough time to prepare which was nice, I went after two weeks for the technical intreview which was 2 hours and 45 minutes long, the experience was more than great, i talked through everything: my cv, previous work, projects, API, OOP exercises using C++ on a computer and the intreviewer had a board to write further questions on and test my thought process. Once we finished, the intreviewer talked me through the next stages if I was chosen and the nature of the work in the company.
So far so good.
After two weeks, I was told I have a matching intreview with the hiring manager, at that day I was super tired and went (it takes me a 2 hour ride to go to the intreviews because of the distance from home to murex, i live in south, they know this.), The hiring manager asked me questions about banking, things I know nothing about, at that time i had never used a Bank and never had a bank account nor my family has a bank account and I have on finance background but I'm willing to learn all that I can. I already had a good math background as Im a physics graduate..
The intreviewer started asking me things I didn't expect to go through again at all, like my cv projects, very fundamental things to the point were I felt like i was missing something or that there's some trick i'm not getting.
The intreview was done, and I answered all of the questions, after two weeks I get a call telling me that I got shortlisted but not rejected, and that I might take a role that opens in couple months. I was super surprised of the decision, as usually whenever someone reaches this stage, it's a hire.. but I didn't get an offer, and I was never contacted again.. it was 2 years ago.
