I applied online. I interviewed at Microsoft (Belgrade) in Jan 2026
Interview
At first, I received an online algorithm task via hacker rank, one medium, one hard. Afterwards i had a quick chat with a recruiter.
After passing these, i was scheduled 4 back top back interviews lasting for 45 minutes with 15 minutes pause. On all of these, you start by talking about your previous experience and afterwards there are practical/techical questions.
The first one had OOP design, second was behavioral interview, third algorithm on HackerRank, the fourth was a system design.
The technical questions were not that hard at all, i failed because i expected them to be much harder and my brain found complexity when there was none

How would I design a scheduler service in distributed environment.
I applied online. I interviewed at Microsoft (Luxembourg) in Feb 2024
Interview
Interview was nice, I liked the team and office. The HR department was generally responsive and nothing raised any red flags. I didn't get position afterwards anyways, but I the whole iring process seems to be fine as it is. Later I found they plan to relocate the office, but it is still going to be in moderate walking distance.

Question 1
What was the most difficult technical decision I had to take ever, and how I managed it afterall.
HR communication was one of the worst parts of this process. She contacted me after several weeks of silence and said we needed to schedule interviews within three days if I was available. After that, she forgot to share the preparation documents, even after I followed up.
The interviews mainly focused on low-level system discussions, with a few behavioral or casual chat questions. The final interview with the manager was one of the worst management interviews I have ever experienced. He spoke in a very top-down manner and repeatedly talked about his own background. He asked technical questions while sharing a presentation screen, and I did not write a single line of code during the entire process.
The technical questions were almost comical and extremely subjective. Overall, it was one of the most unprofessional and biased interview processes I have participated in.
