I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Microsoft (El Paso, TX) in Oct 2017
Interview
I first met the Microsoft team at my University during an info session. They were also present at a career expo my University hosts, and I was able to talk one on one with a recruiter. I was interested in hardware but after speaking with the recruiter I was convinced to go over to the dark side. I had my interview about two weeks after the initial one on one, and the interview process wasn't all too bad. I was asked a couple of behavioral questions and two technical questions. I couldn't have moved forward through the interview had it not been for the interviewer. She helped me feel extremely comfortable and also helped me throughout the entire technical portion of the interview.
Straightforward technical loop overall, with strong interviewers at every stage. I genuinely enjoyed the in-depth conversations around technical challenges and algorithmic problem-solving — the entire process felt well-structured and genuinely engaging.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Microsoft (Bangalore Rural) in Jun 2026
Interview
The interview was hard, even as a fresher the dsa they asked was hard category after I checked on leetcode. Though I couldn't solve it. Some of the other people who interviewed were asked easy - medium dsa
The interview was a long process. There was first the recruiter screen, which was followed by a 4-loop interview structure that covered technical, behavioral, and system design. The interviewers were very kind and accommodating.
