Really bad experience with KPMG London I applied for two roles in January 2026 with KPMG (very similar roles, and I was a good match for both - 10+ years in a handful of very similar positions). My applications on their careers portal never progressed past "in review". Five months passed and by that stage I had totally forgotten about and written off both applications. However, I received a phone call via WhatsApp (? strange) inviting me to an interview. The person on the phone said they would be in touch with the time and date details. This took over a week to finally arrive. I took the time and effort to prepare well for the interview. The interviewer was the direct line manager for the role and was very pleasant. The interview went well - it lasted an hour and we discussed in plenty of detail the usual stuff. I have walked away from many interviews before doubting myself, but with this one I felt a small amount of confidence I would be considered for the next steps. Six weeks have passed and I have still not heard back from anyone at KPMG. This is despite a follow-up email sent after four weeks to the recruitment contact who first reached out to me. That email has been completely ignored. I have been left with: no contact no decision no feedback As I have more than a single brain cell, I recognise that I was not successful. I am writing this not to sulk about their decision but to warn people in the future who are thinking of applying that they should consider options at alternative companies if they place any value on their time. Ultimately, a total waste of time, energy and effort - a really disrespectful and short-sighted way to treat applicants.

Competency and technical with less known or unusual competency questions around innovation etc. Need to ensure you have good answers that can sufficiently demonstrate some of the things they’re looking for
