I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Intel Corporation in Aug 2008
Interview
My interview panel consists of 3 people with different job functions. One does verification, one does backend, while the other does timing. Because of that the questions asked are very broad. Later on I found out that this has something to do with the nature of the organization as well. They are looking for person who knows a little about everything rather than with in-depth knowledge about a specific area.
The interview lasts for 1.5 hours.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The most challenging question is to explain the concept of asynchronous fifo clock crossing method, the pros and cons of using binary vs. gray code counter,
the choice of using ram vs. flops for the fifo, and to explain the approach I would use to verify the design, so that all corner cases are met.
I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Intel Corporation (Santa Clara, CA) in May 2009
Interview
